On September 1, 2009 J. Batt joined the Maryland Athletics Terrapin Club staff as Director of Development. In his role, J will work as part of the Terrapin Club staff to raise funds for the Athletics Department as a part of the Great Expectations campaign. In addition, J will serve as the lead Terrapin Club staff member for the leasing of the suites at Tyser Tower and corporate development.
Most recently J was the Director of Major Gifts at James Madison University, where he was responsible for the fundraising efforts associated with the expansion of their football stadium in addition to the suite and club seat sales process. Prior to his work at JMU, J spent time at the College of William & Mary and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from which he also holds two degrees. J is married to the former Ms. Leah C. Barefoot of Raleigh, NC.
