About the Terrapin Club
The Terrapin Club is the scholarship fund for Maryland Athletics that helps offset scholarship costs of over $10.2 million in annual scholarship support for many of the 700+ student athletes who compete on 27 varsity teams representing the University of Maryland. Over 8000 alumni, friends and fans of University of Maryland Athletics contribute to the Terrapin Club annually. Tax deductible gifts to the Terrapin Club are vital to the continued success of Maryland Athletics as we receive no state financial support for our scholarship programs.

The Team Needs You!
Your donation is a vital part of our strategic plan. At Maryland, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics operates without significant University funding and receives no state appropriations or tax dollars for operational expenses. Sanctioned by the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, 100% of the funds raised through the Terrapin Club are managed by the Foundation for the exclusive use of Maryland Athletics. Your contribution directly supports an annual student-athlete scholarship cost of over $10.2 million and Terrapin Club and department expenses.
Membership Overview
As a Terrapin Club member, you can contribute as much or as little as you desire. Your benefits of membership, however, do vary depending on your level and amount of contribution. The Terrapin Club is composed of nine levels of membership, ranging from the Director’s Circle level, where members contribute at least $25,000 per year, to the Bronze level, where members contribute $55 per year.

Terpoints - Priority Point System
Your generosity and support of Maryland Athletics is measured by an objective priority point system. Terpoints reward members for current annual gift, lifetime giving (including capital campaign gifts and irrevocable planned gifts), consecutive years of membership, new member referrals and season ticket holder status. A member’s total number of Terpoints determines his/her Terpoint priority rank within the Terrapin Club.

10,000 Terps, 27 Sports, 1 Team
The support of the members of the Terrapin Club represents the lifeblood of the 27 varsity sports here at the University of Maryland. In April 2008, the Terrapin Club launched an aggressive membership drive designed to increase membership to 10,000 by the end of 2010. A comprehensive plan to increase membership has been developed and will be tracked closely against the following goals:

Mission Statement
The Terrapin Club will (1) provide the financial assistance required to supply student-athlete scholarships and additional student-athlete related priorities in support of the goals of the University of Maryland Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA); (2) conduct development activities with our membership and prospective members in a professional, customer-service manner; and (3) conduct Terrapin Club activities within the rules and guidelines established by the University of Maryland, the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Vision Statement
To fully scholarship all 27 varsity sports and have membership numbers in the top third of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
